Although NACOS is a small school,
our network is wide. We are continuously researching and collecting
daily life situations from residents of Hawai'i and various information
from Japanese visitors. We put this information to use in both
our Japanese and English Programs. We are also constantly searching
for appropriate people or families who are willing to share their
daily lives with our students.
NACOS chooses people or families
from the surrounding community who have various careers, personal
interests, strong points or special skills to serve as role models
for the Japanese and English language and life-style. We like
to maintain good relationships with these people because they
are the most important resource for our program. They contribute
to the students' development in many wonderful ways, such as
keeping journal entries and taking photographs of the students'
activities and of their own lives. All of this is included in
a personal booklet that is created for each student.
NACOS also believes in putting
efforts into public service, so we started to broadcast a Radio
Program and write various newspaper articles. We put these original
products to use in our programs as well.
